The 53rd Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for the Study of Diabetes (SSSD)
Travel grants for the SSSD meeting in Turku will be available. The grants (up to 4000 Norwegian kroner) are intended to cover a major part of the travel, accommodation and registration expenses of young colleagues who present abstracts at the meeting. The age limit is 40 years of age (inclusive).
The grants can cover a maximum of 50% of total expenses. Upon receipt of verification of expenses and other information the grant will be paid out in local currency AFTER the meeting by transfer to a bank account of the recipient.

YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AWARDS
The Scandinavian Society for the Study of Diabetes (SSSD) awards prizes (10 000 Norwegian kroner each) to young investigators who have published important papers within the field of experimental or clinical diabetes research. One such Young Investigator Award will be awarded at the meeting in Turku in April 2018. The criteria are:
- The candidates for the award should be 35 years or less by December 31, 2017
- The paper should have been published during 2017, and the candidate should be the first author of the paper.
- An application for the award sent by the candidate, including date of birth, should be sent together with a pdf copy of the paper electronically to the Chairman of the Society Bjørn Olav Åsvold, firstname.lastname@example.org to arrive not later than January 15, 2018.
- The award winner will be notified by the middle of February 2018. The award is contingent upon the awardee presenting her/his paper during a 15 min presentation at the Annual meeting in Turku, Finland April 11-13 2018. Travel and meeting expenses will be covered separately.
